Sym saw the hat. Ya'll know she's almost a teen right? She said "oh wow that hat is awesome! It's a Christmas hat! Wait, what are the deer doing?"
They be playing leap frog.

Vents, rants plus anything and everything I encounter in my knitting and life.

Finished!
So I knit a hat for hubby back before he was my hubby. He went hunting earlier this week and totally messed up the hat. Apparently he had a run in with a tree. The hat lost.
He needed a new hat. I wanted to knit an extraordinary hat for him cause this was my first hat to knit him as his wife. I wanted it to be.... special. especially since he's a hunter and all that.
So he he he
Ya'll remember the fornicating deer chart that was going on a while back? Well that's what I thought of. ;-)
And here ya go. The finished product! I knit it with I love this yarn by hobby lobby. I think I may knit another one for him too just in case that tree decides to attack him again.
I really liked knitting it in less than 24 hours! It's single sided. There's a pattern that requires double knitting out there but I haven't gotten around to conquering that mountain.
WARNING!!! COVER YOUR CHILDREN'S EYES!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE REALLY REALLY YOUNG!!! Although they may have the same reaction as Sym.
Sym saw the hat. Ya'll know she's almost a teen right? She said "oh wow that hat is awesome! It's a Christmas hat! Wait, what are the deer doing?"

Been a long time coming
Sorry guys! I'm totally dropping the bloggin ball. I can't believe I haven't updated this blog since August!
There's alot that has happened. We've moved to Midland Tx, so I made a blog for those experiences. fromaltotx.blogspot.com
I've been knitting alot.
I had started a pair of socks when we were driving out to Midland. I call them my Midland Socks but the pattern is called "Mockery Socks"
I've finished an Advent Calendar. The pattern comes from Knitting Today Magazine. It was a pretty easy knit for me. I am really happy with the results! I couldn't tie jingle bells on it so I made little bobbles and pompoms for where it required bells.
Also I finished it yesterday 12/4 so I wasn't out too many days in December. Woot! :-)
Currently working on at least one stocking. ;-) I'll let ya'll know how it turns out. ;-)
I'll be back.

And that's why I'd make a horrible zombie
Last week, I was surfing my fb news-feed and saw where my A is for Awesome cousin tagged me in this random fill in the blank Zombie Apocalypse crew thing. You fill in this thing with the first 7 friends that show up on your profile. Well I go and look at where she tagged me. It put me down as "The first person in the group to die."
Aw I thought. That sucks! I thought for sure with my mad knitting skills I'd be able to survive the zombie apocalypse especially since I carry more needles than a heroine user. Surely my size 50's could take the head off some zombie quickly approaching me at limping speed. Assuming the zombie is limping that is.
So I started thinking what if I was to be turned into a zombie during the zombie apocalypse.
My luck I'd be wearing my glasses that day and I would somehow step on them or someone else would shattering them into a billion pieces.Ya'll don't know this unless you've met me in real life but I'm blind as a bat. If I'm not wearing eyecaps or glasses, I'm seeing nothing but blur. I can only see clearly 3 inches in front of me distance wise. No I'm not far sighted. Far sighted people can see far away but not up close. I am near sighted. I can see up close and the farthest from me that I can see clearly is 3 inches. Sad huh?
So that's why I'd make a horrible zombie unless zombieism can correct nearsightedness I'm doomed to starve cause I can't see shit. Survivors of the ZA could easily creep past me if they move slow enough and stand behind a tree. Yep I would suck as a zombie. It would be horrible. I would be craving brains and end up attacking other zombies instead because I can't tell the fucking difference between human blur and zombie blur. man. See! Folks remember if you see me and you are a zombie turn around and limp the other way. I soo don't want to be known as the Cannibal Zombie.
That would suck. I'd lose all of my zombie friends. they wouldn't invite me to zombie parties where we'd play bobbing for brains. My luck I'd screw that one up too with my horrible cannibalistic ways.
I hear zombies are crap at knitting. I wonder how they are with crochet?

Random July Goodness
Wow! It's been a minute since my last post but I'm gonna post anyways. Has anyone seen the new blogger posting view? It's pretty cool. Although I do miss the old layout.
Summer is almost over, at least for me. I have to register the gal for school next week. Then school will be starting mid August. It's hard to believe. It feels like yesterday she was just getting out for summer.
Also have to bring back a little miss to her mom although I wish she'd hang with us for this school year.
There's been a bunch of things going on but I don't know where to begin.
I know! I'll make a list.
1. We went to the lake with my sister Pam and her family. We towed my grandfather's pontoon boat with us. Then on the last day the motor fell off so we have to go back to the lake and get the motor off so we can tow it back across town. But buddy we all had a blast!!! I caught a 4 lb cat fish. ;-) It's hanging in the freezer and we totally need to fry Bertha up and eat her. Yeah I named her Bertha.

2. Johnny's birthday was yesterday. He worked all day came home and we surprised him with a streamered condo, daughter created cake, custom gift cards and a fishing shirt. He was tired from working all day and didn't want us to make a big deal of his birthday so we just made a mini party at home. It was great!! The girls did a pretty good job on the cake too.
3. Knitting: Still pickin on the mystery hat by Leethal Lee, finished the baby booties. Crocheting: I started another Threads of Love blanket. Painting: I attempted Stary Night and I've yet to finish it.
4. Adventures of Cats v Dog Update: I think they are getting along pretty well now. Darky occasionally will stay back when she sees Katie and then her hairs stand on end and tail fluffs then she realizes that the dog is not paying any attention to her and she just goes on about her business. Izzy is actually sniffing Katie's butt and she lets him. However if any dog comes around katie she immediately starts snapping and barking. go figure

It's been a minute
Hey all! I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to blog. I've been a little busy livin life. Let's just hit the highlights
1. We have had my 2 step daughters with us the past couple of weeks. That's been fun especially for Sym. She loves having Van & Chy here. I do too. Although It's been hard to cook for 5 instead of 3 like I've grown accustomed to. Funny, I used to cook for 5 all the time growing up but when 2 out of 5 are the most picky eaters in the world, well it can throw you off. Oh well.
2. When J & Me had a night to ourselves just before we picked the girls up. We hung out in Vicksburg and I hit a 1500 jackpot on a slot machine! Let's just say that that money was put to good use, bills.
3. I won a quick knits kit from Leethal Lee and received it Saturday. I was stoked!!! I've already knit several wrist bands. The girls LOVE Them!!! I didn't have a whole lot of scrap yarn so I used some sugar n cream cotton yarn
I have found that it stretches on Sym. She doesn't use the buttons to remove and put on. Sighs

4. Also working on a hat for my ya baby Gatsby.
It's still in progress. Sorry folks.
5. I'm on a booty kick. or is it spelled Bootie? I've got 3-4 folks havin babies and I'm trying to knit up a whole bunch to have ready for showers.
6. I just received Little Red In the City by Ysolda Teague. So hopefully I'll get my sweater groove on. It's a great book. I find it easy to read and very informative. The patterns are awesome too! Go buy you one on Ravelry. You can get it in electronic & book format or both like I did. Ravelry rules!!
7. I haven't tatted much since the wedding. If you saw the last post and look very closely, you can see how I did a little tat for all the My Man, the father/grandfathers and moms/grandmoms. It was fun. They were simple but still a bit time consuming since I had to tat up a bunch. I have a bunch of family folks.
8. Right after the wedding, my work decided to close the office and let everyone there work from home. Me included. So I've been busy moving stuff and setting up home office. I do enjoy hanging with my girls all day instead of having Chy watch them while I'm at the office. I like the entertainment. When Sym and Van get together you never know what they are going todestroy do.
9. Van has a yorkie named Katie. Let's just say the cats are slowly getting used to her..
Alrighty I guess I better get back to work. Thanks for reading!!

Yeah I know I am a sucky blogger
Greetings all!!
Yes I'm still married. No I do not believe the rapture is going to happen tomorrow.. because the bible said that no one knows when that's going to happen. Just as long as there is still no peace in the middle east, we are okay.
but I do find it odd that the CDC put up a what to do in case of a zombie apocalypse on their site. It may be coincidental, but still I have my zombie apocalypse bag ready. Filled with yarn needles and dental floss. gotta keep your teeth clean you know.
You all should go see my friend Melissa's Blog. She posted some of my wedding pics there. If she'll do another wedding, you should pick her and her friend Bonnie for all your wedding day needs. She's awesome and I'm not just saying that because she is my friend. I mean it. They are both totally awesome!!!
Let's see, I'm cross stitching for free. Yep. If you have ever heard of regretsy.com you may have heard of April's Army. I'm hoping to have it finished this weekend so they can list it, Benefits will be going to a single mom that lost everything in an apartment fire. Yeah. It's giving back and all.
Also I've got to get a move on with my baby knitting. I've got to knit something for Melissa, Amy at work, and I know there will be more because let's face it, everyone is having babies but me. and I'm all for that!!! Oh hey Melissa, you remember that scarf I was knitting on at Knit night at in the making? Yeah I'm still working on that booger.
Okay gotta go ya'll have a great and super awesome weekend!!!

Well it is official!!!!!
I am a married woman as of last Saturday April 30, 2011 I married the man of my dreams. Yep. I can honestly say that!! After my divorce in 07 I was told by someone that I would never find anyone that loved Sym and Me like they did. Even after 3 years of just going day to day with only Sym's interests at heart I believed that statement. Until the first day of school as I was impatiently waiting Sym to get off the bus I got a call from a mysterious number that had an unrecognizable area code. OH GOD!!! She's been kidnapped!! (yo when you stay up late at night alone you watch alot of cop shows!)
It was Sym telling me she walked her new friend home because she got off at the wrong stop. Wait I've told all ya'll this before!
Ok so when you've been given a second chance for love and marriage, what kind of wedding do you have?
answer: You have the easiest wedding possible! That's what!!
My awesome friend Melissa and her friend Bonnie were our photographers! Ya'll I am anxiously awaiting pictures. Also I promised I wouldn't harass you too much Melissa. Especially since this will be a mother's day for you that is beyond what you've ever experienced! I'll keep that promise. Love ya hun!!!
So we got married at Cedar Grove Mansion Inn and it was beautiful! Even after the awful storms that happened 2 days before they had minimal damage. Yep just one tree down. That's it!! The flowers were intact, white confederate jasmine blooming in arches around the yard, and they smelled, ooooo love it!!
I have a few pics from facebook that my family took that I can show you for now. but here's the one you've REALLY been waiting for....

My lovely Sister Natalie and Her Boyfriend Donnie sang Brown Eyed Girl as I came down the aisle

It took both of my uncles to fill my daddy's shoes...

We are saying our vows. I was determined not to cry so I giggled. ;-)

We were waiting for them to cue our walking down the aisle song "You're the First...." by Barry White.
Finally it came on

Here's our cake

Here we are silly happy drinking Sparkling Wine.

Thanks for Reading ya'll!!!
I wish everyone could have been there. But we were paying for this ourselves so....
Love to You All!!! Remember When you think there's no one out there for you, they come into your life and shake it all up. ;-)

10 Days of Rain, Sun, Rain, Sweat, and back pain to go
Good Wednesday to you all!! Yeah 10 days till the wedding and I'm stupid excited.
So far the plans are working out. Flowers ordered, I have my dress in hand along with the evil lady unmentionables that are currently making me have another butt on my back. yep. So what's my solution to this horror? Nope not going to buy another unmentionable, just going to loose 2 lbs so that it won't pinch so bad. Yeah. in 10 days. It can happen. So I'm sweating it in the gym for 30 minutes a day until the big day. Also going to hit the tanning bed and hope I don't accidently change the color scheme for the wedding. Currently it's purple not magenta.
The dress isn't purple because that would be kind of silly right? I almost got a nonwhite shaded dress but decided that the last thing I want is my grandparents to see me in funeral black or fuck me red strutting it down the aisle to my future hubby in plaid. I mean who wouldn't want a plaid wedding? It would kick ass!!! But sighs I could not. with dad gone the last thing I want to do is cause my older family members to 1) have a heart attack 2) Disown me or worst of all, 3) get my uncle who is officiating the wedding to pull out the exorcism ritual oh wait he's methodist Pam (my catholic sister) could exorcise my demons. I could just see my 6 year old nephew Elliot now shaking holy water on me yelling "the power of Christ compels you!"
Well the flowers I've decided to make the bouquets and boutineers the night before. I'm also in the process of making my veil. I was at Davids Bridal looking at what they had for the astronomically priced of 120+ veils and I can replicate almost everyone of them but with my own flair of course. I'm tatting up some lace for the edges of the veil. Also going to tat 6 small backgrounds for the boutineers. I know I'm not spelling that right spell check but you aren't giving me any alternatives. Kthx!
Parties: I've had a couple. My Wednesday Crafting Divas through me a little shower a couple of weeks ago! I absolutely love those ladies! Also my coworkers threw me a little one too. Love them too!
It's wild because as much as I love my man I really didn't want anyone to go out of their way to throw me a shower and all. but I'm not too proud to look a gift horse in the mouth either. I am blessed to have so many folks at my back happy for us. Yeah because he's not just marrying my crazy ass he's marrying Sym, my crazy family and I'm marrying his. LOL Love it! We'll all be committed by year end!
Thanks for all the good wishes and the showers Oh folks in my real life! Ya'll Rock!! Oh thanks to ya'll my real life cyber friends too!!! Ya'll rock too!
So don't forget swing by here around my big day! That way you can see what I cross-stitched for the wedding. :-) Very Very special. I promise. I'll even try to do play by play of the wedding too.
I need your thoughts for a dry wedding. Not dry as in dry alcohol but dry as in no rain for our big day.
I'm getting worried with the last of April's showersof terror and I'm hoping that it will be beautiful and not as humid as that look people keep giving me about an april wedding. sheesh.
Now I leave you with a picture of my gal Sym

14 days till the wedding
At this point not only am I freaking out a little bit but I'm also super happy. Everything is set pretty much. all that is left is picking stuff up closer to the venue. Sorry I've been gone for a while. Of course work picked up and due to my busy time kicking in. It's been fun. Also I'll be working from home in a couple of weeks! I'm super excited about that. I'll be able to get into a more healthy routine. ;-)
I've even got my home work space ready!! I'm that excited! One of my sisters has moved back to Birmingham. My sister Pam and her fam is back! I am just beside myself so happy that I don't have to wait for them to come back to town to visit or drive over 3 hours to get to her.
I've promised pictures to ya'll of the shawl. I've got them!!!
But they aren't the best. I don't have anyone here that can take a pic at the moment so I took pics of it on the couch. Yep. Couches come in handy. ;-)

I also have another crafty something that I made for the wedding but I'm waiting to show you all.
He he he Mostly because I want it to be a surprise to everyone. Melissa already knows because she is a cross stitcher and you know I was soo excited about this one. I've not cross stitched anything in years! Except this one. :-) So I'll post it here first right when I set up for the wedding on Saturday 4/30. :-)
Yay!!!
Ok I've got to clean so I'll talk with ya'll more later!!! I promise! I plan and will do a full blown wedding blog.

I've not cross stitched anything in years! Except this one. :-) So I'll post it here first right when I set up for the wedding on Saturday 4/30. :-)
Yay!!!
Ok I've got to clean so I'll talk with ya'll more later!!! I promise! I plan and will do a full blown wedding blog.

feeling good ready for more crafting
Sorry about the delay of blogging. I've been nuts. Just a little. Not full blown instutionalize me nuts. Just pistachio nuts. You know the good nuts that you love but don't get too often.
Completed Works of knitting!!!!!
Yep I've finished the shawl! Hold your applause please it hasn't been blocked/washed and stretched to hell and back yet.
But here are some eye candy pics.
I finished it when we were on our way to Texas to pick up Van & Chy. My soon to be but I call them Step Kids anyways.Damn I didn't take a finished pic. I did take a pic as I was doing the edging in the truck on the way to tx.

I will try to get a finished pic tonight. Maybe. Who knows. I'm trying.
Now I'm down to the wire for the final crafty things for the wedding.
Loving Comfort Shawl - 100%
Sampler - 10 % IT has been decided! woot I'm cross stitching a sampler to be displayed at the wedding.
Tatted treats for all - 5% May not finish this one. I've got other goodies for attendees.

That's my Ya baby Gatsby and his Grandfather Johnny(he has no named picked out for himself yet). Yeah that's my fiance and technically that's my step grandbaby but that doesn't sound age appropriate for me. Yep being 33 and having a future step grand baby is weird and awkward to say outloud. (It's like folks calling me grandma just because I knit.) Plus it's a freakin mouthful. I like Ya baby much better. He will call me Ya-Ya and I love it!

Wow what a busy week!!
It's been busy this week. Seriously busy this week. I've started working out at the gym and have lost 2 pounds already. I've been working out in the mornings and the evenings. I didn't realize how out of shape I've been. Since the wedding is in like 58 days and I have to get measured for my dress altering on 3/30. So I want at least 15-20 lbs off my body so I can look HAUT for my wedding. I'm determined. It will happen even though friends have just looked at me like I'm crazy. HA!
Also Sym has been apart of the JV Winter Guard. What is it you ask? It is like color guard except no marching band and add more dancing. So yeah she is a flag twirler. :-) Just like her momma was at one time. She loves it too. This is the first time the Middle School has had a winter guard and these girls man they've rocked it seriously! I'm excited for their competition today. They've all worked so hard.
Wedding invitations have gone out this week and last. I am hoping Johnny's addresses come in so that we can get them all out. I've ordered Napkins and a killer guest book. Also have the cake topper on the way, the venue is booked and all we gotta do now is the cake. Which is tough because there's not an online bakery in Vburg and there's not a publix there either. That sucks. But we do plan to go back out there in the next few weeks and check that out in person.
And last but not least knitting!!!
Yes I'm knitting when I can. I've started another Loving Comfort Shawl. I was going to do the Dai Teiru by Grace the incredible but I didn't' like the weight of it. I want the shawl to be airy.
So here's your peak at it.

I'm knitting it in Vanna's Choice. It is going to be huge and I'm psyched about it! Hopefully I'll get some major knitting time in today as I wait on Sym's team to start.
Alrighty folks!
I hope ya'll have a great weekend!! :-)

NCIS I really need you to take out my cats before I do
I get a call from Sym. She got home 5 minutes b4 me.
Sym: Mom I think the cats got into your yarn
Me: (I start crying inside and get all panicky) OMG! What does the yarn look like? Is is itchy or thin?
Sym: It's multi colored thick and scratchy.
Me: Ok that's the patons' wool. I finished that project a while back. I can forgive them.
Sym: There's also some light blue multi yarn out too.
Me: (sinking feeling coming back) Crap Ok I'll look at it when I get home.
I get here and I find my loving comfort shawl that was stored in a gallon sized zip lock bag in the hallway and NOT in my yarn bag where I left it this morning
.
Me: F&@K!!!!! Where is he? I'm going to kill that fucking cat! (sorry folks bad bad words fly from these lips when yarn is involved)
Sym: I don't think he did it
Me: Oh really? So you those other times that knitting fucking terrorist cat chewed through my bags didn't count?
Sym: Oh yeah. Yeah Izzy really does like plastic.
F*@K F*@K F@*K F@*K
I I can't talk about it any more. I'll let the pictures tell you.

He was determined to snap and eat my yarn. So determined that he pulled the end of my knit picks options needle join. SERIOUS determination to piss me off.

And of course the infamous yarn snap

At this point in the game (I was knitting the edging) I don't know what the hell to do.
Should I try to salvage it or do I say fuck it and trash the whole thing? I'm all about character in my knitting but this jus reminds me of how much I hate my damn cat now.
He's scared and hiding in Sym's room. Johnny came home and was wondering why there wasn't any cat blood splattered everywhere. yeah. I'm just waiting to catch that little fucker in the act.
yeah.
sighs.......
Update 2/10/11: Sighs... I can't kill them. Neither one no matter what the hell they may do to my knitting. Just look at how Izzy is tickling his nose with his tail and Darky is covering her eyes with her paws. No way. They are too cute. And I love them too much even if they seek to ruin my knitting or piss me off.

They are too f-ing cute!
I was able to salvage the shawl and I'm knitting on. It's not too bad. He didn't damage the actual knitting. He just snapped the feed line which is common Izzy behavior.
I'm brining it to work with me just in case though.

Don't leave me high don't leave me dry
Don't you hate it when you get a melancholy-ish type song stuck in your head? I do. So I shall make you all suffer the radio head with me. Blah ha ha ha
I do have some good things going on.
Wedding Plans:
__X__ Dress
__X__ Someone to marry us (my Uncle)
__X__ Location (They Do the food too)
__X__ Invitations (Ordered awaiting arrival)
__X__ Photographer (http://melissagay.wordpress.com/)
All that's left on my todo list is
_____ Wedding Favors
_____ Marriage License
_____ All the bazillion forms collected for name changing (ugh!!)
_____ Maid of Honor Dresses
_____ Registering for stuff is at 50%
Ugh it's still too much to do!
Beware Knitting in Progress:
Loving Comfort Shawl - 85% completed! I'm working the edging on it now. I'm loving it! However I think after I'm finished knitting it I may attempt to redye it. I'm just not loving the colors of the yarn. I'm thinking I may use some really dark wine color to saturate it before I go through the dreaded blocking process.
Beware Crochet in Progress:
Threads of Love Baby Blanket - 85%
I ended up Crocheting during the super bowl because the pattern for that blanket is sooooo easy that I can still watch TV. Unfortunately I couldn't do that with the shawl. I really love the superbowl and I'm a big Green Bay fan so I was VERY VERY happy to see them win it for the first time since 1997, wow! That's like 13 years ago!
Brings back memories....
So I had a birthday a couple of weeks ago. My man bought me a bouquet of beautiful flowers and had them delivered to me at work on Tuesday (2 days b4 birthday). It was the first time anyone had sent me flowers at work in my whole 33 years. It was cool and the few women around here were oooing over them. I love my man!

The night of my birthday (1/27) I took the day off. Johnny took half a day. He took me to In The Making my LYS and he bought me yarn!! He suffered through 45 min with me in the store. God bless him! Sorry didn't take pics of the yarn. :-(
Then that evening we went to City Vineyard for a Blind Wine Tasting! We actually got 4 out of 6 right! I was impressed with out pallets. The ones I missed he got right and vise versa. Put us together and we are unstoppable! Love that shop! The owner rocks and the folks that frequent are really cool.
One of the wines that I loved at the tasting is this lovely chardonnay.

Alright folks! I'll get some pics of knitting and crochets this afternoon. Until then. Ta-Ta for now!

New Years Resolutions
Crafting Resolutions that is....
1. Knit a Shawl 100%
Yep I've got one in progress! It's the Loving Comfort Shawl by The lovely Grace at http://lovincomfortknits.blogspot.com sent me the pattern. She made it you know. The yarn is knit picks which I lost the ball band so I can't give you the fiber content, but it was hand dyed by yours truly. I'm thinking I may try to dye it with wine. Then it could be called Loving Wine Comfort Shawl. :-)
2. Knit another pair of socks.
I sooooo love my new socks that I finished just before fall that I"m now more than ever inspired to keep at the ol sock knitting. That's going to be my Feb project I think. Now which pattern should I knit? I've got the yarn all over the house. LOL
3. Expand my Crochet abilities
I REALLY need to get my hook on cause there are so many things I'd like to crochet.
4. Christmas Stockings for All!!
I want to knit Christmas stocking for my crew so that would be 5 min by Dec 2011. If I finish early, I'll knit up some more for the ya baby and his mommy & daddy.
5. Tatting Gone Wild!
I want to learn some new motifs and maybe make a big thing out of them. I'm still debating. I've been tatting from a couple of books I have and also from some of the tatsters online. Tatting is one of those things I can do in between to keep the boredom to a min.
6. Also make a baby gift stock pile as well as a few for Threads of Love. Yep I'm still rocking it with those lovely ladies.
7. Sewing: I'd like to sew something. Anything and learn how to really use a sewing machine. I just kind of wing it for now but I'd actually like to be able to say "why yes, I can sew very well I've taken the class to prove it." Sometimes you just need someone to say hey you are doing that wrong. You know?
Alrighty with that said and out of the way...
Box completion is at 50% awaiting some prices.
Sym is in the OMMS Winterguard this year. It's their debute year at the Middle School and she's loving it. She's involved in an extracurricular activity!! Woot!! She's doing great too I'm sooo proud of her. If I can catch her twirling I'll record and post it.
Have a good one!!!

What the Hell Happened to December?
Sorry It's been a while ya'll. Thanksgiving weekend my laptop had an accident. It ended up drinking too muche eggnog and then it decided to slide under a recliner I was sitting in. As I was trying to eject myself from the recliner, precious laptop slid under the perfect spot to get its screen cracked. Luckily, the wonderful folks at Lenovo fixed my precious up for me and it returned to me on Christmas Eve. How cool is that? They were my santa this year. However I have not felt the love to blog nor had the opportunity to do so until now as I sit and sip on a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks.
My sister Nat in WV came down on the 18th. Yeah I don't know if I've mentioned that on here. must research later. She's been in WV since this summer. Pam moved to ATL in May. My sisters are no longer within hitting distance. It sucks but at least I can annoy them on the phone. We all had a blast at my mom's side's Christmas Party. It envolved seeing my uncle sport a scarf in a way that I wish I could forget though.
Having my sisters in hitting distance again made me very happy. But then they had to leave so I went back to a little less happy state of mind.
We had Van my new kid in for the holidays. It was awesome!! I have missed having her around. She's funny crafty and loves to push my buttons and her dad's. She and Sym got a good haul from old St Nick this year. Tons of dolls with clothes and little shoes for me to vaccume up. So lovely.
We also took a trip to see my sister Pam in Atlanta on Christmas day. We had a lovely snow storm that day. We all piled into the truck and drove 3 hours in snow and ice down I-20. We hung out with my niece and nephew a little the girls mostly had their attention. Johnny, Pam Eric & I we adults, played Wii Monopoly and Wii boxing and we wiied around for hours. It was fun and so worth the risk of death and the consequential horrendous neck pain I've been experiancing since we left. I slept in my neice's bed. It wasn't nice to me.
It felt different this year. I think because I was expecting my dad to walk through the door and say "SUPRISE!! I was kidding about the whole death thing to throw off those damn debt colllectors." Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Even christmas eve at his parents house was soooo weird. Luckily Mamaw had wine and she didn't have to drink alone cause I was helping her finish that BIG bottle of cheap chardonnay. Again that feeling that dad was just going to walk in continued to plague me. I have gotten closer but have not gotten my box totally together yet. I've had to deal with my dad's boxes of bills and trying to move on and plan out the wedding. Yeah I'm still getting married in April. I'm not letting my dear John(ny) get away. :-)
They've finished Dad's headstone. They are putting it up on Tuesday. I'm taking the day off to oversee the event and possibly getting a pedicure. Pedicures are curealls for weird sadnessthere is always alcohol.
Johnny asked me what I want to do tonight being new years eve and all. I'm not in the mood to party like a white girl but I'm (Ok side note. what's with dudes and skinny jeans? really? if you don't have a guitar over your shoulder please don't wear them if you know you don't look good in them!! For reals!) thinking I should just chill at home. I know it's lame. I know its stupid but even though this has probably been one of those mentally breaking years I've already experianced, I just don't feel like faking it for strangers/friends or anyone. I think spending New Years with my man, my Sym and Ryan Seacrest constitutes a pretty good way to wrap up a hellacious year.
I may just reflect on all the GOOD times we've had. For example, several trips this year. Man we have travelled everywhere this year! Vicksburg, MS, Dahlonegah,GA, Texas, Orlando, West VA, PCB, Gulf Shores, Pace. It's been great! Some trips with the kids some without. Meow.
I've knitted TONS!!! First pair of socks in 2 years, baby booties, hats, Calamortries, baby sweaters.
I've learned how to crochet and I've crocheted SEVERAL baby blankets and a baby hat. I've been tatting still lots and lots of motiffs some that had patterns some that didn't and I just winged it.
I"ve made more process improvements at work this year than I have in the past! I mean productivity wise it has been a good year. I just wish my dad was still here. I miss him. That doesn't go away does it?
Sorry for the uber long boring ass post ya'll. I guess I'm just making up for all that time I didn't blog.
Maybe 2011 will be my year to reappear online with more to show. Yeah next comes new years goals. But I'll put that in another post. Toodles

Lots a going on here. Turkey weekend is upon us and you know what that means...Christmas Eve is exactly one month away! Why do I depress you all with such a slap in the face? I also encourage those 7 folks that read my blog to please list your fave etsy folks or even post a link to your etsy or your fave vendors so I can keep doing this. LOL
