Oh well it was a lovely thought......

Well folks, I'm down. Due to yet again unexpected financial urgencies, I can't go to Bonnaroo. My ticket arrives Tomorrow. I'll get to look at it, smell it, then sell it on eBay. What sucks is that I've used up all my cash from delivering to pay off this unexpected thing and now here it is, 13 days to the day and I can't go. Wouldn't you know it? I get all excited about something and then it gets ripped out from under me. :-(

Oh well. I'd rather go to Paris anyways!!!

Here's the eBay Link if you are interested in purchasing my ticket

I've NEVER in my life done anything like this before! I can't wait!!!!
Tool came to town Saturday night. I had to work of course but I probed my co-worker about the concert. He said it was killer! So that just makes it all the more exciting! I'm so freaking antsy about it I can hardly wait!!!!!

OO Cool!!! I love these little survey thingys!!!

I nabbed this one from Jenger! I scored Katharine just like her! LOL

Your Score: Katharine Hepburn

You scored 28% grit, 4% wit, 47% flair, and 28% class!

You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet. You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who like strong women.

Okay So it is Cube Art Instead of Frig Art.. Get over it!

Yeah I'm a slacker! I was late this morning and forgot to take Sym's Frig art pics before I left. :-( So I looked around my cube and saw all these great pics Sym drew for me up at work. My boss is super cool and if I can't find someone to watch the Angel they let me bring her up here sometimes. So Here's a couple of pics that are my faves!!

This one is a portrait of me. Don't you just love the big eyes?
Image001.jpg

OH my hump hurts!

What a day!!! I'm ready to hit the road!!
My crazy week is slowing down. Here are the things that I've had on my plate to recap and their status as well:

Completed!!!
** Guess Who for Sym's Teacher Due ASAP - I found what was probably the most fabulous thing for a 1st year teacher gift! The game guess who with everyone in the class! I finished it this morning but guess what! I forgot to get pics. I got the idea from Craftster.org. I didn't have all I needed to make the name tags but her teach was tickled to death by it!!! I also put a pic of the class on the front of the box!

**Dream Swatch Head Wrap #2 dollar bin Targe yarn - DONE!!! Pics to come at a later time :-)

In Progress:
** Stripper Slut Bag for the Stripper's friend Still have to do the whole duplicate stitch thing for the lady on the side. I figured out what I'm goin to do for the strap though. I've yet to get going with it though

** Dream Swatch Head Wrap # 3 Berroco Calico Yarn - I'm about half way finished with it. I started it Tuesday night. It is for my coworker and she said she would pay me for it (I'm I turning into a knitting whore?)

** Socks for Sym - Not even attempted yet.

This has been a crazy assed week! I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while guys. The words don't want to come out right sometimes.

So I'm thinking that I'm going to keep on delivering pizzas for a while. I eventually want to hop on the Stitch n' Bitch cruise one year (maybe 2009?). Paris is waiting for me to get there so it won't be anytime soon. It's a shame too because I've never done the cruise thing either and how perfect would it be to hang out on a cruise ship with a TON of knitters? That would be so freakin cool!!!! Maybe we need to start a fund? Who's with me?
Update Look what else I found!!! ShadKitty? Scarlett? Anyone? Anyone?
Well back to work :-(

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for Frig Art Friday!!! Sym loves your comments!!!
XOXOXO

Big hugs!!

My Time is a Piece of Wax, Falling on a Termite...

"who's choking on the splinters!!! So...Open the Door!! I'm a loser baby! So why don't you kill me? Go Crazy with the Cheese Wiz!!" --Beck because he's the bomb man!!
(Yeah 2 posts 1 day :-) it needed updating!!)

There's some incredible news that I MUST Share!!!!
The Adamknits had a contest on his blog today, the prize was an invite to Ravelry. I won!!! Yay!!!! So FINALLY I can loose all this jealousy that I've had toward all my knitting friends online for talking about it and not being able to participate, I'm finally there man!!!! Ya'll better look out!!
Thanks Again, Adam. I've already sent you a million thanks, and an email thanks too but I can't stop!
I've started to play with it too!!!! I LOVE IT!!! I don't have Firefox at work. It's crappy IE but I have firefox at home so Tom is NOT dominating the computer when I get home!

I've been pretty busy lately. Sunday (mom's day) I was helping my mom unpack. Yep then I took Sym to the pool. I got to knit because I didn't want to swim. (fear of exposing stomach and bikini region.) Then I went home and crashed out at 11 because I was sooooo tired! 11! that's sooo not me! Usually I'm knitting at 11.
I did get to have a Me night Monday. I went and hung out with a friend at Applebees. I had fun! I've been commissioned to help this friend by fixing his computer. So I've been working on that too! It's being a REAL pain and I am going to have to dive deep into the registry to figure out what the heck is causing it to not want to load properly. I've got to finish backing his stuff up first!

I've been knitting too! I knit my mom "Dream Swatch head wrap by Knitandtonic" in Berocco Bonsai! Mom loved it and spaztic me didn't snap a pic! I'll get one tonight! She's watchin Sym for me while I deliver pizzas.
I love this pattern!!! ScoutJ has a link to it onthis blog post. This blog inspired me to knit it!! Thanks Scout!!! I loved it so much and Bonsai was taking up space so I just had to try it!!! My mom LOVED IT! She may actually use it more as a scarf though. That's okay.
So I decided to knit another one out of some colorful acrylic yarn that I've had sitting in my stash. It is my "I need to do some knitting for me" Project. :-)
Sock Front... I WANT to start on the Seize Diamondback Socks by the Yarnball boogie John B but I've run into the following issues. 1. Cash for Jitterbug yarn (22 bucks!!) 2. LYS has been out and is having a hard time restocking 3.the Time!!! I'm knitting for other peeps for cash.

***Yep you read # 3 right! I'm knitting a cash bag for a co-worker's roommate's girlfriend who happens to be a stripper. :-) Cool huh? Instead of the pizza slut this one will be called stripper slut. LOL I'm not charging him too much but I may have the opportunity to knit more.
Can't wait!
Also my bestest knittin friend Crystal has spoiled me rotten!! She sent me a spinning starter kit for mom's day!!! I'm taking pics tonight after my shift at the Hut so Ya'll can see!! Thanks girl!! I loves ya!!!
Hey look! It's a pic of a WIP taken at my desk at work!

XOXOXO

I'm Tagged!!! (Just call me Minnie Purl)

Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog. Here are my facts:

1) I LOVE COFFEE!!! I must have it in order to live!

2) I smoke even though I knit but I don't smoke in my house. I hate the smell of stale cigarettes on my clothes/knitting/furniture etc.

3) I love me some kareokee! I sing it man, even if folks lie and tell me that I did good when I know I didn't. I must sing at least once every few months!

4) I always loved the dorky characters in the movies. They seem like so much fun.

5) The Sandman Comics are my absolute favorite books to read in the whole universe!

6) My signature drink at Applebees is a bloody beer (bloody Mary mix poured into a Miller Lite, Coors Light or Bud Light.) I love the hell out of it!!!

7) I've wanted to go to Paris since I was 12 and I'm finally going to go in Jan!! (I hope!)

I tag,
Crystal, Scarlett, Rissa, Bo, Sunne, Kat, and Romi

Have fun with it!!!!

My First Pair of Grownup Socks!!!

Yes you read that right!! I've finished my first pair!!! Go Lesley!!
and without further a due here they are!!

Pattern: An Adapted one from the knitter's handy book of Patterns. I knit 20 rows of Rib and the rest stockinette
The Yarn: Tahki Cotton
The Needles: 4 size 5 Dpns
My Gauge: Uhm I'm bad about gettin exact gauge. It seems that it is 7 sts to the inch.
My Thoughts: I liked the way the socks turned out, however I do not like knitting socks with this yarn. I struggled to keep tension especially when I went from one needle to another. (Yes there are ladders in some places.) I've run into this prob with Knit Picks Shine also. That mercerized cotton is a hard act to deal with. Also They are a little small. I didn't make the foot long enough so they don't fit quite right.
Lessons Learned:
Tahki Cotton & Lesley knitting socks with it don't mix
Just because you are getting low on the yarn that shouldn't stop you from knitting it to the right size.

Okay so that's my first pair of socks. Woo-Hoo!!!
Next type of sock pattern I will attempt is Toe up socks via magic loop method. I think I'd like that better. That way I can try them on as I knit!

Thanks for stopping by ya'll!!
XOXOXO

Ps. I REALLY wish Ravelry was ready for me! I'm on their waiting list twice now! Someone invite me please!!!!! I'm dying to try it!!!!

My Weekend.....Long Blog Part deux

I'm sick today. I think Tom gave me the flu. I typed this up at various points of my day yesterday and my head hurts so I haven't proofed it. Ignore my mistakes please!!

(From here on DH will be referred to as Tom in my blogs)
Saturday.....Knitting, Cupcakes, and Dumbass me!
Saturday morning I awoke to my Bro-In-Law texting me that his daughter Anna's Birthday party was at 1:30 at an AWESOME park! Tom was still sick with the flu and we chatted a bit. I told him that if he tries to push himself too much, he'll just keep the flu. So he stayed home from work again. It sucks too because his money nights are Friday & Saturday. Those nights are bread and butter nights(and his escape nights.)
Anyways, I go get a gift and book it to the Party. Sym had crashed at my mom's place and Mom said she'd bring her to the party.
I get to the park and low and behold, I find my baby sis Nat Knitting at the party table...

OOOO I was sooo excited!!! That I broke out my knitting too!!!

So we knitted while everyone else played and waited on Sym (I love my Mom but she was born late). Sym got there and we commensed with the pizza eatin, happy birthday singin and present openin. Lots of fun!! Then all the kids and grownups played too!! Here's Sym & I Swangin!

Fun huh? We had a ball! Here's Anna & Sym too. They almost look like sisters! Wild huh? Anna is Nat's Step Daughter (if you haven't figured it out yet, Yeah Nat was the one that got married in Feb). I find if funny though, I think Anna & Nat favor each other a little even though there is no DNA matches there.
Anyways, Anna LOVED her gifts, party, playing and eating. I unfortunately had to leave to bring pizzas to good homes (only the ones that tip!!) :-)

It was a mildly busy night at Pizza H that night. Lots of complaints and re-runs though to people trying to scam the store. I hate those! If you are going to scam a pizza place at least tip every driver that is trying to fix the problem, you know? On my last run which was a triple bagger (3 deliveries in one trip)I realized that anything can happen when you don't pay much attention. I took the first 2 that were REALLY close to the store then the last one was about 10 miles away from the store on the outskirts of the delivery area. I get there finally, 20 minutes late, get the customer $4 off, (still got a freakin awesome tip!) then I got to my car. I tried to crank it and it wouldn't start. I looked at the gas gauge and it was WAY past E with the little light on!! I Ran out of gas!!! I started laughing my ass off. I called the store, told the closer what had happened and he said that it was the perfect end to a crazy ass night and that he was going to send the late driver out there to rescue me. So since I knew it was going to be a while I went back to the front door of the customer's house. This is exactly what I said..
" Hi, I'm embarrassed to say this but I ran out of gas in your driveway. The store is sending someone to bring me gas. I just wanted to let you know so that you don't think 'why is this crazy delivery girl still in my driveway?'"
The guy laughed, mostly because I was.
"He told me that his bro-in-law was going to be home any minute and that he's the only one that may wonder"
Sure enough the broInLaw pulls up looks at me in the car and says "Did they take care of you?"
I burst out laughing, "Yeah they did, I just ran out of gas"
He busted out laughing as well and asked if someone is on their way to help. I said yeah and then he went inside.
While I was waiting on the late driver I proceeded to call several folks, including sick Tom. He laughed also. It took the driver an hour to get to me because he had to go to 3 gas stations to find a freakin gas can!!!
Luckily Emery is alright and has been running like a dream since. Next time I'll know to pay attention to little lights without beeps.
If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at?
Oh what a night!

XOXOX

My Weekend!!! Long blog, very little pics

Well guys, I thought I'd share my weekend with ya'll! It has been a fun one that involved alcohol, knitting, cupcakes, and work. Not all at one time mind you but those are just 4 words to kind of give you an insight as to what happens when you mix the 4 over 3 days. Cool huh? I'm gonna break this blog up. I'll post my Saturday for ya'll tomorrow!!!

Friday... Sapphire Martinis, Crawfish, Bloody Beers, Kareokee, and Hashbrowns with Cheese :)
The original plan was to go to my friend Tara's house for dinner for a nice kid free night. That plan changed. Ended up Tara and her boyfriend REALLY NEEDED a nice night of worry free love making. So I didn't want to be a 3rd wheel to that you know.
So what is a knitter with a baby sitter to do when her original plans change and she is short on cash? Go with the flow!!!!!
I got a call from my friend A and we met up at Applebee's. A bought me a couple of Sapphire Dirty Martinis (Yum!) and some nice conversation. A left to go on with his plans for the evening and told me that he may holler at me to see if I wanted to meet up later on my Knitter's night out. So he left, I broke out my knitting and proceeded to a bloody beer. he he he
My friend Leslie texted me wanting to hang out but she had to pay homage to the hubby first. LOL (You know how that goes married ladies!) So I texted her back saying take her time because I'm all about not causing chaos in marriages.
So I chatted with some regulars, drank my beer then all of a sudden I get a phone call from my adopted brother Josh (I adopted him as my bro not my parents!).
"Hey Les," he said. "Laura was called in to work. I have 6 pounds of crawfish and 3 pounds of shrimp and no one to help me eat them. You want to come over?"
Okay folks, I NEVER pass up Josh's Cajun cooking. Unless there is a DAMN good reason (which would be, no car, inescapable plans with family members or I'm in the hospital for something). Josh had impeccable timing!!! I was awaiting my gal Leslie and needed to kill time and I was hungry and light on cash
"Damn right I'm coming over! I'll be there in 15-20 minutes!" I told him.
So I booked it to his house. Helped him clean up because his mom was coming over too and his wife would have had a fit if she knew Josh didn't clean up before his mom arrived (Raise your hand if you can relate!) This weekend was the Schaffer Eye Center Crawfish boil and I was too broke to go. I'm DAMN glad I didn't because their crawfish doesn't touch Josh's!!! It ROCKED My world!! I hadn't hung out with his mom in so long either. She is super cool and I felt like I was family hanging with them. That's the reason I adopted Josh!! Leslie texted me after we where done shucking and stuffing and I was winding down.
I gave hugs to Josh and his mom and many many thanks and left to go visit my gal Leslie. We hung out at a pub in Southside. I've got her hooked on bloody beers!!!!
She's my first friend to actually start drinking those things! Everyone turns their noses up to them. When I arrived at the pub she was carrying her beer glass in one hand and a shot glass of bloody mary mix in the other. he he he.
We chatted outside on their patio and watched the crazy crawfish boil crowd stumble around. We laughed and had serious conversations too. Leslie and I are crazy like that! We always have a good time just talking.
While chillin with Leslie, A texted me wanting to meet up again. Leslie ALWAYS has SOMEONE texting or calling her when we are together and for the FIRST TIME EVER it was I who had someone trying to get in touch with me. Talk about karma. We hung out till MIDNIGHT at the pub. She paid both of our tabs cause she is soooooo sweet like that!!! Usually we'll get together at my place and I'll buy us some beer so she said this time it was her treat. Good friends and conversation ROCK, I love my friends!!!!
I was buzzed and determined not to go home until I was DAMN Good and ready. I told A where I was and that I was thinking about heading to this little Kareokee bar to watch rednecks make a fool of themselves (usually I'm up there with them but I had a sore throat.) He was game too. So we met up there. He actually had all his buddies from the party there too!! A's friends were hilarious. They were all tore up!! I got a bit more buzzed too!!! A even got up there and sang!! He has such a deep voice that he nearly blew the speakers! All your bass belong to A! I'm brain farting on the song he sang with his buds. It will come to me later. Check back for an update.
It was getting around 2:30 in the AM and the bar was ready to shut down for the night.Still determined to stay out until 4 (although A and his buds were goin to crash back at the party house), I decided that now was a fabulous time to sober up. Right next to the Kareokee bar is a Waffle House so my ass parked it there until 4 AM drinking coffee and the best damn hash browns and cheese. My entertainment? OH folks you know I find something to entertain me when I'm out and about! I had my sock that I was working on, the crazy folks that work in the Awful Waffle and the customers, one I had to threaten with a dpn to leave my chair alone. What's with men wanting to take women's chairs anyways? I left my knitting there marking MY SPOT and the dude wanted my chair anyways! What a F***ing Jerk! Yo but I stood my ground and continued sipping on my coffee and water and knitting on my sock. I reaquainted myself with a server there that I hadn't seen in a while. His name was Bobby and he is a groovie guy. He even let me take his pic with my sock! How Yarn Harlot fabulous is that? AND he even drew me a dragon fly!!! I Love Dragon Flies!!! AND!! AND!!! He shared his dark secret with me... He Crochets!!! I kid you not!!

(Yes folks! That is the Second sock of the Pair!!!!)

Then I went home and crashed out. Tom was sick so he didn't go to work. I'm glad I had a night out. I would hate to have gotten the flu from him. I definately DONT need that!

What a Friday night huh?
Thanks for reading!!!
XOXOX
