As Promised Finally!!

Yes! Pictures!!! Yay!!!

Tatting works that I'm piddling around with
I did this one as a throw together from some other patterns I've piddled with.

This one is a shuttle pattern from The www.theanticraft.com It's called Midnight violets. I was able to convert it somewhat to needle tatting instead of the ol shuttle which I do not know how to work yet. I'm not finished with it yet. I'm still considering this a piddle because I'm trying to figure out how to do the drop in the lower middle point. As you can see these two do not match. But I'm trying. See! I have to do trial and error too. All you needle tatters out there feel free to give a gal some hints/suggestions.

Finally Knitting:
I call it green bag. However the pattern is called "Going Green Shopping Bag". Plus I'm using mostly green yarn so there. :-P

Ya'll enjoy! Feel Free to comment on my piddles. :-)

Hi there....

Well, I've got not much to share with you peeps today. I do humbly apologize. So... I guess I'll start with the mid-day knitting news.
KNITTING NEWS
I'm back on the needles again:After a year in the "OMFG I've frogged this trucker 21 times and I'm ripping the yarn out now for the final time" Pattern that is named the same as one Battlestar captain/admiral is back on the needles again. Attempt number 22. I figure that if I do not conquer this pattern I will have to hang up my knitting needles permanently and by golly folks I'm not ready to do that anytime soon. SO the elusive battlestar captain/admiral pattern is back but instead of using the Opal yarn I'm using Knitpicks Shadow which is what the pattern originally called for. I will conquer this pattern just as the captain/admiral found freaking earth even if it kills me. So please check in and make sure I didn't stab myself with my knitting needles. ;-)
Knitting 4 the babies: Charity knitting. I've been knitting on a layette set for a preemie babies for the birmingham chapter for threads of love. Great organization. I know I've mentioned it before to ya. so search out and see if you can be apart of it too. They need stuff for these babies. Not just preemie but also full newborn sized too for neonatal ICU babie. It's a good cause and it is nice to donate stuff like this to families in my opinion. Makes ya feel good.

Fiber News: Tit for Tat Yes folks I'm still tatting. I like it too. Very fast very quick and lots of pretty things are created from such.
I've not learned anything "new" however I'm still ironing out my technique. Quite fun by jove.

Hooker newsNope not picked up the crochet hook. Too many other shiney things. ;-)

Ok I've gotta get back to things again.
Talk to ya next time.

It's been a minute

I hate that I've neglected my lovely blog. I've been Twittering, Plurking, and facebook & myspace status updating though. So if you know me there you can still follow the crazy buzzings of my stream of conscious mind. If you look at the panel on the right, there's my plurk boxy thing. I update the status stuff via phone text message. There's a great site called Ping.FM that helps.
My internet has been down at home, occasionally I can borrow my sister's laptop to check out bank status, email and occasional facebook but alas it does not make up for the fact that I need to blog!! Doesn't mean I haven't been writing though. Alot of my time has now been devoted to Sym Summer Fun. Yes that's right. Swim Sym Swim! Say that 10 times fast!!
I've got the hang of tatting. A week or 2 ago I finally figured out the flower!! I kick ass!! Check it out in my photos on Facebook. Also I've taught one of my friends to tat. She's into the whole chaotic type of tatting. Tatt whatever the hell ya feel like. I dig it. I do it too. ;-)
I've also become a newbie hooker. My friend Helen and I sat at my place Sunday knitting and she walked me throught the single crochet stitch. I'm but an egg. So I'm doing the crochet thing. Look at me! MORE Hobbies! Woot! Don't worry folks, I'm not going to turn out to be like the Monkey lady from Clean House with a billion hobbies and allowing mayhem and foolishness rule the home. Balance is key.
I'm still trying to finish Stranger in a Strangeland. I'm on the last 100 pages and it is just really hard to get through them. I loved the book up till then however the churchy religious stuff is really disappointing. I knew that Mike would achieve that cause he's different. Those that are different end up starting cults.
I am side reading when I can So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.
:o)
Okay ya'll have a good one. I'll do my best to update you in the latest saga of the strange and bizzare LesleyD as she takes on the world one craft at a time.
XOXOXO

My first brag worthy tat

I've been attempting this flower to tat. It is what inspired me to take on this fiber art that has been around for centuries.

I'm learning totally from the instructables site here.

It's tough to get used to the tension of the thread and how to bounce it on the needles. However my perseverance has paid off in the end. While attempting the said pattern above I created what you see in the pic.
pretty groovie huh?
